Our People

Managing partners Steve Levine and Marc Levine, Denver natives and a father-and-son team, are successful businessmen with advanced degrees and decades of experience in real estate, property management and finance.


Steven Levine

Steven P. Levine
Steven P. Levine, a real estate broker licensed in Colorado and CPA, has specialized in property management, primarily as a general partner, for more than 35 years.  During his career, Steve has managed 4,000 mobile home sites, 240,000 square feet of self-storage space, near 300,000 square feet of retail and office space.

He currently oversees all the operations of SPL Real Estate & Management Company. Steve is also a managing partner in a finance company in Denver and founded Tanmarc, a real estate brokerage house for nearly 25 years.

Steve began investing in self-storage facilities in the mid-1980’s and has actively invested in all of the SPL properties since the early 1970’s. 

Steve, a Colorado native, ran a successful accounting practice prior to his real estate career. He attended the University of Denver, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. Steve is the proud father of two and loves golfing, skiing, hiking and his granddaughter.


Mark Levine

Marc P. Levine
Marc P. Levine is responsible for property management, acquisition and sales, and commercial real estate brokerage at SPL Companies, a position he has held since 1992. He began his career in real estate by remodeling homes for resale and managing rental properties. 

Marc earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Loyola Marymount University in southern California. He worked as a loan officer for the West Los Angeles Division of Security Pacific Bank and has been a licensed real estate broker in Colorado for more than 15 years.

In addition to membership in the Apartment Association of Metro Denver and the International Council of Shopping Centers, Marc serves on the Board of Directors of Colorado Capital Bank and Project Pave (a nonprofit organization promoting alternatives to youth violence through education).


Todd

Todd B. Tenenbaum - Partner, Apartment Management & Operation
Todd has been with SPL since 2008 and has extensive training and experience in all facets of real estate. For more than 17 years he has managed a portfolio of apartments, single family homes, retail/commercial centers, and has also worked in land development. Todd has extensive knowledge of land use planning, land development codes and regulations, zoning and rezoning, due diligence, local and state permitting, estimating, land entitlements, state storm water compliance, contracts, and bidding and subcontractor selection and negotiations. His experience also included work as a commercial and residential estimator. Tenenbaum has sat on a variety of HOA Boards and Metropolitan District Boards. Prior to his real estate experience, he worked as a Financial and Operations Analyst for Great-West Life. Todd graduated from the University of Colorado in 1989 and spends as much time as possible with his beautiful wife and two children.


Brett

Brett Paterson - Regional Construction/Project Manager
Brett joined SPL in 2006 and supervises all construction development and maintenance of all SPL properties.  Brett has been in the business for more than 15 years. 


Joyce

Joyce Rider - Executive Assistant and Office Manager.
Joyce helps keep everything running smoothly in the SPL offices. 


RobinMark Levine

Robin Walker - Accounting and Bookkeeping
Robin manages SPL finances and bookkeeping responsibilities. 


Candace

Candace Paterson - Regional Manager – Colorado & Wyoming
Candace supervises all areas of operations for our Kangaroo Storage Facilities in Colorado and Wyoming.


Angie

Angie Walker - Regional Manager – Nevada & Arizona
Angie supervises all areas of operations for our Kangaroo Storage Facilities in Nevada and Arizona.
